1990

IDEA ABOUT A QUALITY WATER SOURCE

In the 1990s, the Vietnamese consumers did not use and care much about pure drinking water. Imported drinking water in PET bottles were very rare, expensive, and inconsistent quality…etc, but considered as luxury products, prejudiced as for overseas Vietnamese or foreigners.

Mr. Le Nhu Ai, a businessman with the desire of providing a high-quality pure drinking water at a reasonable price, had searched for qualified water sources all over the country.

1992

SAPUWA ESTABLISHMENT

After years of searching for the optimal water sources, in September 26th, 1992, Saigon Pure Water Private Factory (SAPUWA) was established in Go Vap district, applying Ozone (O3) water sterilization technology, ultraviolet – created a new era for pure bottled drinking water industry in Vietnam.

1993

JOIN THE INTERNATIONAL BOTTLED WATER ASSOCIATION (IBWA)

SAPUWA is the first Vietnamese company to join the International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) as a national representative.

IBWA is a commercial association for companies in bottled drinking water industry all over the world. They have created rules and regulations, approved by governments, to support for the development and protect for companies in the industry.

1994

FIRST DELIVER 5 GALLONS BOTTLE AND HOT-COLD DISPENSER IN USE

Be aware of the increasing demand for qualified drinking water, SAPUWA is the first company to deliver 5 gallons bottle and hot-cold dispenser in Vietnamese market. This has changed customers’ habits and increased customers’ convenience.

1994

LABOR UNION ESTABLISHMENT

The SAPUWA’s Labor Union was established in 1994, under the Labor Union of Go Vap district, has attracted 100% SAPUWA employees to participate.

The Labor Union takes care of both material and spiritual life of employees such as visiting sickness, funeral, marriage, ….etc. They follow the practices of labor regulations, annual company trip, daily meal, birthday gifts, and general activities such as sports, arts, …The Labor Union also listens to employees’ desire and solve their problems. In many years, the SAPUWA Labor Union has been recognized as an outstanding and leading unit of Go Vap district’s Labor Union.

1997

ACCOMPANY WITH VIETNAMESE FEMALE SOCCER TEAM IN 19th SEAGAME

SAPUWA provided costume, drinking water, and fees for Vietnam national female soccer team in their first participattion in SEAGAME and bronze medal gained, in Jakarta, Indonesia. This indicates the national pride of Sapuwa, and we are always willing to support and accompany with the national sports.

2001

CERTIFIED FOR “ISO 9002:2000 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM”

Be aware that management is very important all the time, is 1st competitive element, and is a decisive condition in the company existence and development, SAPUWA’s Broad of Dirrectors is determined in building a suitable quality control management system. With the efforts of all employees, SAPUWA is officially certified for ISO 9002:2000 by SGS Vietnam in 2001. This is the international standards that satisfies the quality demand and enhances the customers’ satisfactions.

2002

THE FIRST COMPANY IN BOTTLED DRINKING WATER IN VIETNAM EARNS THE INTERNATIONAL CERTIFICATE: “FOODS SAFETY SQF2000”

With the strategic vision, with the purpose of international integration of SAPUWA, actively overcome all technical barriers of importing contries, make the Vietnamese bottled drinking water industry strong and forward, SAPUWA has developed based on applying the international standards to satisfy both international and Vietnamses requirements on foods safety. Therefore, Sapuwa is the first and only brand in Vietnamese bottled drinking water industry to get SQF 2000 certificate (risk management system in foods safety) from 2002, keep being certified annually.

2006

CULTURAL IDENTITY SETTLEMENT

In September 5th and 6th, 2006, SAPUWA held the training program with the content of how to settle a company’s cultural identity. In this meeting, we had affirmed the SAPUWA’s Humane Culture and Four Clean business philosophy: Clean human, clean workshop, clean products, and clean profit with the purpose of giving customers the most satisfaction when using SAPUWA’s products and services.

2007

THE 3rd CLASS LABOR ORDER

In 2007, Mr. Le Nhu Ai honored to receive the 3rd class Labor Order from Mr. President.

2009

“ISO 9001:2008 QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” UPGRADE

SAPUWA has seriously applied the quality management system in operation, and continually improved and upgraded the new ISO versions. SAPUWA earned the ISO 9001:2008 in 2009, which is appropriate to new ISO version’s standards (issued by the International standardization organization based on the updated scientific and technological achievements), and suitable for the Company development in each period.

It is considered the safest step for the Company that aims to export products, and asserts our quality brand in the domestic market.

2011

EXPORT PRODUCTS TO INTERNATIONAL MARKET

SAPUWA’s bottled drinking water products meet the stringent international quality standards and are trusted and chosed to import by the international customers. In November 2011, SAPUWA exported to Thailand. It has promoted for the SAPUWA’s international cooperations.

2012

CHANGE FROM PRIVATE ENTERPRISE TO LIMITED LIABLILITY COMPANY

The SAPUWA’s development is result of inheriting and promoting core traditional cultural values from the first foundation generation, combined with the dynamic, confident, and ambitious current generation in intergrated working environment.

Following the general development trend, SAPUWA has changed business model from private enterprise to limited liability company.

2014

UPDATE AND GAIN CERTIFICATE ON FOODS SAFETY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ISO 22000:2005/HACCP

In tough competitive environment nowadays, especially when Vietnam is increasingly integrating in the world economy, in order to satisfy increasing customers’ demand about safety and quality, in July 2014, SAPUWA gained the ISO 22000:2005/HACCP certificate, which was effected in 3 years. After that, SAPUWA registered to make reassessment and successful hold the certificate ever since.

2017

PRODUCTS DIVERSIFICATION AND DEVELOPMENT

Base on our researches on the customers’ behavior and market needs, SAPUWA has developed and released new products lines such as 5-liters bottle with tap; newly design bottles for high end market…etc that have received positive feedback due to their beautiful design, reasonable price, and convenience.

2018
